03/5 Evaluation of alternatives Intercom (Fin)

Comparison

SentientWeb vs Intercom

Intercom puts an assistant in a panel beside your page. We change the page itself — and we are built for a different kind of sale.

Intercom and Fin are excellent at what they are designed for: resolving high volumes of support conversations for software companies. Two things separate us. Theirs is a panel product by architecture; ours operates the page. And theirs is built for software support, while we are built for consultative sales where one customer is worth $5,000 or more.

What each product does

What Intercom does well

Mature, well-engineered support tooling with deep help-centre integration, strong resolution rates on repetitive questions, and an ecosystem most software teams already run. If you are a software company drowning in support tickets, Fin is a sensible purchase and we are not an alternative to it.

What we do differently

A panel answers beside the page and leaves the page unchanged. We answer inside it: the response stays in place, sections that no longer matter recede, and a returning visitor gets their arrangement back. We also carry a confirmation gate on anything that books, submits, or commits — because acting on a page is a different responsibility from replying in a box.
